Product Details
The Austarc 16TC welding electrode is a low hydrogen, basic electrode designed for all positional welding except vertical down, compatible with both AC and DC power sources. It is engineered for professional welders working with carbon, carbon manganese, and low alloy high strength steels, delivering reliable performance in critical and non-critical applications.
Manufactured using a unique twin coating extrusion process, the Austarc 16TC concentrates arc stabilising elements in the inner coating, enhancing arc stability and control. This results in smooth operation, excellent weldability, and high-quality weld deposits with dependable notch toughness down to -40°C.
Typical uses include pipe welding, single-sided weld joints, highly restrained joints, maintenance tasks, buffer layers before hard surfacing build-up, structural steel fabrication, and applications requiring performance at sub-zero temperatures.
- Low hydrogen electrode suitable for AC and DC welding
- Exceptional arc stability and weldability
- Reliable notch toughness to -40°C
- Ideal for carbon, carbon manganese, and low alloy steels
- Applications: pipe welding, structural steel, maintenance, and sub-zero environments
