This BINZEL 2% Thoriated 1.0mm Tungsten Electrode is designed for professional welders requiring reliable and stable arc performance. It contains a nominal 2 wt-% thorium oxide (ThO2) evenly dispersed throughout the tungsten, making it the most commonly used tungsten electrode type in welding applications.

Thoriated tungsten electrodes offer excellent resistance to weld pool contamination, enhancing weld quality. They provide easier arc starting capabilities and maintain a more stable arc during welding. These electrodes are primarily used in DC electrode negative (straight polarity) welding processes and are suitable for welding carbon steels, stainless steels, nickel alloys, and titanium.
