Product Details
The Gullco Linear KAT Oscillator for Flexible Track is an advanced weld oscillation system designed for automated mechanized welding operations. It enhances production efficiency and weld quality by reducing common defects such as poor penetration, incomplete fusion, overlap, and undercut.
This GK-200 Series automation carriage offers options for linear or radial oscillation heads and is compatible with both rigid and flexible tracks. The oscillator supports multiple motion patterns including linear, pendulum, tangential, and step (square pattern) motions. It features adjustable motorized stroke width, infinitely variable stroke speed, three independent position dwell times, motorized center line positioning, and interfaces for automatic wire feed start and travel start/stop.
By synchronizing welding gun oscillation with the precise travel speed control of the KAT carriage, users achieve consistent, high-quality welds while reducing overall production costs. The system can store up to 10 weld programs, suitable for flat or curved surface weld oscillation and all-position welding.
The KAT Weld Oscillation Automation Carriage includes a compact oscillator head, controls, mounting brackets, connecting cable, heavy-duty micro fine rack boxes with rack arms for horizontal and vertical adjustments, and a standard MIG gun holder. It is available with a KAT carriage designed specifically for spring steel flexible track (GK-200-F) or rigid aluminum track (GK-200-R).
Equipped with a Gullco microprocessor-based programmable control and closed-loop feedback, the system maintains complete speed accuracy under loads from 0 to 100 lbs (45 kg) in any welding position. The oscillator heads produce three distinct motions when mounted horizontally or vertically, including exclusive tangential, pendulum, or linear motion.
Key features include motorized center line adjustment with electronically controlled dwells (0-5 seconds) at each stroke end and center, enabling quick and precise torch angle and position setup by tilting the oscillator rather than the carriage or track. Motorized stroke width allows easy and precise weld pattern adjustments. Oscillation speed is electronically controlled via a speed potentiometer, reaching up to 140 inches per minute (linear) or 45 inches per second (radial).
The GK-201-100-RC is a separate remote-controlled compact oscillator assembly available in linear or radial configurations. It includes a MIG gun holder, remote control box, control cable (up to 20 ft), micro fine rack boxes, rack arms, and brackets, and can be mounted on existing KAT automation carriages, welding head manipulators, or side beam carriages.
High-precision, state-of-the-art controls on the KAT carriage automatically manage forward/reverse movement or dwell of the welding gun and its oscillation motion to produce various weld patterns. The carriage control allows pre-setting of speed and direction, displayed on a highly visible LED in inches per minute or centimeters per minute. Oscillator controls enable pre-setting of carriage delay/start after wire feed start, dwell times, stroke speed, stroke width, program storage, and cycle start.
