The Hypertherm Powermax 45XP is a portable, lightweight inverter-based plasma cutter designed for handheld and mechanised cutting applications. It operates on a 240V single-phase input requiring a 32 amp supply, making it suitable for workshops and farm buildings.

This 45 amp plasma cutter can sever mild steel up to 29mm thick and is recommended for production cutting up to 16mm plate. It supports cutting with air or nitrogen and is capable of processing electrically conductive metals including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.

New features of the Powermax 45XP include an enhanced gouging function at 10 amps for light metal removal such as spot welds without excess material removal, as well as handheld and mechanised plate marking capabilities. The machine automatically adjusts air pressure according to the cutting, gouging, or soft marking application.

The unit uses the Duramax range of torches with a quick disconnect system and a torch disable function for safe consumable changes. It includes a quick-fit torch connector for easy switching between hand and mechanised torches. Additionally, the CPC remote socket on the rear allows interfacing with X-Y and CNC controlled plasma cutting tables.
