The Lincoln LT-7 Sub Arc Tractor Track Model is a self-propelled mechanized wire feeder designed specifically for submerged arc welding applications. This unit is ideal for operators seeking efficient, automated wire feeding with track system mobility, suitable for heavy fabrication industries.
Designed to be compatible with various Lincoln DC constant voltage and constant current power sources, the LT-7 Tractor facilitates butt and fillet welds on steel ranging from heavy plate down to 12 gauge (2.5 mm). Its compact and lightweight construction allows easy maneuvering through confined spaces and quick repositioning between weld joints.
Commonly used in ship and barge building, storage tank erection, bridge deck installation, and structural fabrication such as beams, girders, and columns, the LT-7 Tractor excels in welding long seams on heavy weldments. Its self-guiding track system and exceptional tracking control reduce operator workload, enabling focus on quality control, joint cleaning, and flux handling.
- Feeds 3/32 to 3/16 inch (2.4 to 4.8 mm) solid wires at speeds from 100 to 400 inches per minute (2.5 to 10.2 m/min)
- Adjustable travel speeds from 6 to 70 inches per minute (0.12 to 1.8 m/min) via calibrated tractor drive
- Vertical head lift adjuster for electrical stick-out from 1/2 inch to 5 inches (12.7 to 127.0 mm)
- Weld angle capability up to 50° from vertical on either side; drag angle up to 30° from vertical
- Control box mounted on tractor frame (left or right) for convenient procedure adjustments without returning to power source
- Welds butt, horizontal fillet, and lap joints on either side of the tractor frame
- Close mechanical alignment between wire and joint maximizes weld quality without additional fixturing
