The LINCOLN OUTERSHIELD MC-715H 1.2MM Metal Cored MIG Wire is a high-efficiency metal-cored wire designed for welding mild steels with tensile strengths of 355-460 MPa. It is engineered for steel construction and offshore applications, providing reliable performance in demanding environments.
This metal-cored wire complies with AWS A5.18 classification E70C-6M H4 and EN ISO 17632-A T 46 4 M M21 H5 standards. It is optimized for use with M21 shielding gas (a mixture of Argon and 15-25% CO2) at gas flow rates of 15-25 l/min, ensuring excellent arc stability and weld quality.
Key features include a high deposition rate, excellent weldability with low silicate content, and suitability for both single and multipass automatic welding. The wire offers outstanding mechanical properties, including a Charpy V-notch impact value greater than 47J at -40°C, making it ideal for applications requiring high toughness at low temperatures. It supports various welding techniques such as short, pulsed, and spray arc, and is suitable for robotic welding applications. Additionally, it enables bridging and root pass welding with short and pulsed arcs.
Typical applications for this wire include steel construction projects, offshore structures, and welding of wind tower flanges. It is compatible with all welding positions except vertical down, enhancing its versatility in the field.
