Product Details
The Lincoln Outershield MC-715H is a 1.6mm metal cored MIG wire designed for welding mild steels with tensile strengths of 355-460 MPa. It is engineered for demanding applications in steel construction and offshore industries, providing reliable performance in harsh environments.
This metal cored wire is classified under AWS A5.18: E70C-6M H4 and EN ISO 17632-A: T 46 4 M M21 H5 standards. It is optimized for use with M21 shielding gas (a mixture of Argon and 15-25% CO2) at gas flow rates of 15-25 l/min, ensuring excellent arc stability and weld quality.
Key features include a high deposition rate, low silicate content for cleaner welds, and superior alloy control for consistent weld properties. The wire supports single and multipass automatic welding, with excellent mechanical properties including impact toughness greater than 47J at -40°C. It is suitable for short, pulsed, and spray arc welding, making it ideal for robotic and automated welding processes. Additionally, it offers bridging and root pass capabilities with short and pulsed arc techniques.
Typical applications encompass steel construction projects, offshore fabrications, and welding of wind tower flanges. The wire is compatible with all welding positions except vertical down, enhancing its versatility on complex structures.
